Express Yourself With Decorative Glass (WMS) - Homeowners with solid entry doors are missing out on all the fun. One of the hottest trends is to create entryways with decorative glass that truly reflects your personal tastes. Do you like contemporary designs? If so, perhaps a combination of glass swirls, circles and bevels would set your home apart. Do you prefer more of a simple mission style? Then look for an inspired mixture of glass in a craftsman type of pattern to define your entryway. "We've conducted interviews throughout the country where homeowners express interest in upgrading the look of their entryway to complement the home's exterior," says Angelo Marasco of ODL Inc. "Consumers understand the value of curb appeal. They appreciate that decorative glass in their entryways allows them a visual way to personalize the look of their home. Consumers also know they can add to both the day-to-day enjoyment of their homes and the eventual resale value with decorative glass." In response to the consumer research, ODL has introduced a new selection of glass types, caming options and glass designs to meet the needs of homeowners. For door lights and side lights in entryways, the company now offers combinations of Thin Reed, Seedy, Glacier, Ripple, Alabaster, Slush and Vertigo glass with their existing options of Bevels, Muffle, Renaissance and Granite glasses. Glass types can run from transparent, which provides maximum visibility and light flow, to obscure glass that protects homeowner privacy, says Marasco. "Combinations of these glasses create stunning entryways," he adds. To unite the glass pieces together, ODL offers caming options of black chrome, satin nickel, chrome, brass, patina and nickel. Caming can be selected to match or contrast door hardware and exterior lighting on a home. Available in a variety of shapes, including full oval, rectangular full door, half door and center arch panel, the decorative door glass can be ordered for new doors or installed into existing solid core doors. New styles from ODL include Entropy and Trillium (contemporary designs), Oak Park (a prairie style), Cadence and Tripoli (classic looks), along with Escapades and Echelon (traditional designs). "Homeowners want options for their entryways and these new designs run the gamut of styles and glass selection," says Marasco. "Whether planning the entryway for a new home or remodeling a cherished, older home, there are products in the new line that can complement any home style."
