New Container Design Helps Eliminate
Messy Paint Jobs
(MS) - Paint pouring doesn't have to be a messy hassle. With the introduction of KilzTM Casual Colors TM one-coat paint comes the debut of a new, sleek container. Molded of lightweight polymer, the container is a redesign of the traditional paint can, making painting easier, especially for the growing female DIY-er population. "We consulted ergonomic engineers to rethink the concept of gallon and quart containers," said Mike Walsh, vice president of marketing and new product development at Masterchem Industries, the makers of Kilz brand products. "The result is gallon and quart containers that are easier to pick up, carry and use. Both men and women love the new designs because they are easy to hold." The new gallon container features an extra-wide, easy-to-grip plastic handle that makes it easier to carry, open and pour. A redesigned quart size container has side indentations for easier holding. Both containers have wide screw-on caps that eliminate the hassle and mess found with other paint lids. There is no more prying or pounding to unseal and seal the container and no more dried-out paint. The lid also doubles as a paint cup. A spout on the gallon-size container eliminates the mess associated with pouring paint directly from the can and also features a convenient brush wipe. This shape promotes efficient use of shelf space in the store and at home. The containers are easy to spot on the shelf because of the unique look of the pearlized bottle and the colors of their metallic-toned caps and handle (gallon-size).
