'Secret Weapon' Rejuvenates Plants and Flowers

Earthworm castings -- a "secret weapon" of avid gardeners and plant enthusiasts for hundreds of years -- are now available to homeowners and home gardeners as an organic and odorless soil supplement. Dr. Subler's Living Soil Earthworm Castings, the biologically active "droppings" of earthworms, are teeming with beneficial microorganisms, enzymes and bioactive substances that improve plant health and appearance.

According to company founder Dr. Scott Subler, the castings invigorate and rejuvenate potted plants and perennials, enhance germination and early growth of seedlings and cuttings and also stimulate flowering and improve fruit set and quality. They come in a convenient 2-ounce single-serving packet, in eight-ounce and one-quart zip-sealed pouches, as shown above, and in a larger 5.4-quart bag. The castings are also offered as earthworm castings tea, in a convenient liquid form, as shown, and in tea bags for those who prefer to brew their own biologically enriched plant health tea. The tea is available in a four-ounce spray bottle and in 8-, 16- and 32-fluid ounce bottle sizes, and the tea bags in 24-bag and 48-bag tins.
