Home Is Where the Heart Is

No matter where you travel, even the most idyllic locale, coming home is always a vacation in itself. Though your home can be a sanctuary and a place of comfort, you shouldn't be afraid to give its overall look a makeover. Your mustard yellow, 1970s-inspired kitchen appliances may bring back fond memories, but its time to think outside the box with home-improvement ideas to give your home the lift that it needs.
When you visualize a home improvement project, it doesn't have to mean tearing down walls and erecting a new structure in their wake. Often, the most subtle touches, like a new paint color or a few well-placed knickknacks can add that certain pizzazz you're looking for. New fabrics, paint styles and innovative projects can all give your home a fresh look. And, if you feel like adding a new room or re-roofing the entire house -- go for it.

Spring is an ideal time to revamp an area of the home. Take advantage of the warmer weather, which often gives new lift to ideas that may have been dormant during the winter, to look for inspiration. Browse antiques stores or page through the latest magazines to spark some new ideas.
